Outdoor and indoor unit

On the street side comes the outdoor unit with a doorbell button, microphone and, on a videophone, a camera. We mount it on your front door, façade or gate post, weatherproofed so rain and frost can't get to it. Inside, you get a handset or a colour monitor in a spot that suits you. If you have a large house with several floors, or a flat, we fit extra indoor units so you can hear and see who's at the door wherever you are.

Replace, reuse and link

Is your old intercom no longer working, or would you like to replace it with a video door entry system? When carrying out a renovation, we can often reuse the existing doorbell wiring. This means we don't have to lay new cables, and damage to your walls is kept to a minimum. We'll neatly conceal the wiring and connect it to the consumer unit in accordance with AREI regulations. If you wish, we can link the door entry system to your gate, your CCTV or your home automation system.

Remote answering, the VAT reduction and privacy

Many videophones stream the picture to your smartphone, so you can answer and open the door even when you're out – handy for a parcel delivery, for instance. Whether that's possible depends on the model you choose. If Ahmed installs the videophone in a home over ten years old as part of electrical work, the reduced VAT rate of 6 per cent often applies. A videophone that only shows who's at your door falls outside the camera law. If you also film the public road or store the footage, the camera must be registered with the local police.
